Re: Single note tremolo stem length
I've not been using Finale professionally for the last... 15 years lol ... so I can't help, but I'm sure someone else here will! Attached is your screenshot with my markup. The stem is offset, by about 1 pixel according to your screen resolution, but if you export PDF and zoom as much as you can you...

Re: divisi to non-divisi notation in strings
Yes, "tutti, unis." (with the comma imho) is the best for the unison bar. For the divisi bar you have several options: 1. use bar rest in up-stem voice to silence first desk/division, and write music in down-stem voice 2. write normally and then it depends from the language you are using: ...

Re: Single note tremolo stem length
It looks ok but I'm wondering: 1. if this is Finale, why do Tremolo slashes are so slanted? I've never seen them being so angled. I always strive to have one end sit or straddle and the other end straddle or sit —and I'm struggling with Dorico because none of them seems to be properly placed (and al...

Re: On the use of tablets and BT page turners
BTW, Dorico users can add additional custom page sizes with a doricolib file. It's really pretty easy to do. I added a couple of iPad sizes so I can easily format for those sizes in layout if I want. <PageDimensionsPresetEntityDefinition> <name>iPad (8th gen)</name> <entityID>pagedimension.ipad8thg...

Re: tremolo notes and ties
I use dashed ties most of the times, especially in contemporary music.

Re: Dorico development issue
I'm not sure whether I should be happy or terrified that you explained me this! The urge to go there and mess things up will be hard to resist! Some other personal uses: With a doricolib file, I have all my Page Templates, including all my V.S. and Tacet templates, ready to go in any New file so I d...

Re: Dorico development issue
Dorico uses XML under the hood to describe and store most of its data: this includes Expression maps, Engraving Options etc; but also notation objects like clefs, instruments, notes, tonalities and key signatures, playing techniques, etc, etc. A .doricolib file is just a bit of XML that contains so...

Re: Dorico development issue
I'm curious to see what direction they take it, but would love to see D6 focus on more notation features rather than playback. Yeah, me too! To be sure I understand: is the doricolib something like Sibelius House Style, that you drop into Library Manager and import what you need? Or how do you crea...
