Re: Florian's Nepomuk - and reimagining a Durand score
Just to update: v2.04 now has even better kerning(!), a few more characters (including the T caron for Kaťa Kabanová), some discretionary ligatures for fj and ij, and other improvements. https://github.com/benwiggy/nepomuk/releases I'm hoping that's probably reached a sufficient level of ... suffici...

Re: harmonic diamonds on whole notes
The lopsided-ness comes from two things: firstly that the diamond is not as wide as the semibreve note; and also from the notional 'stem' to which the noteheads are attached.
Alternatively, you could create a playing technique with the diamond shape, which would always be centered on the notehead.

Dorico 4.1 and iPad 'lifetime' purchase
Dorico 4.1 is now out: with more MIDI editors, notably the dynamics lane. Lots of improvements to Lyrics: individual syllables (or characters) can be edited with different styles; ignore punctuation in alignment; elision slurs can be adjusted globally. It also warns you if your open project is modif...

Re: Alternatives to Adobe Creative Cloud
Ooh nice. One really great feature of Illustrator is/was that you could open a page from a PDF file, edit it, and 'put it back'. On a related, but disappointing note: FontExplorerX is being EOLed. They stop selling it at the end of June, and support only til July 2023. I guess everyone who needs it,...

Re: harmonic diamonds on whole notes
Dorico uses the "White Diamond" Notehead set for harmonics, and SMuFL provides different noteforms in diamond style to match each of the notehead types. I agree it's a curious decision; Daniel does know it's not ideal and needs revising. You can change this very easily in the Notehead set ...

Re: Alternatives to Adobe Creative Cloud
Just to update this list, 2 years on: The Affinity suite of apps has addressed many of the shortcomings, particular those with importing PDFs. Inkscape is now much more user-friendly on the Mac: it's available as an application bundle, without any additional installations. For web editing, Pinegrow ...

Re: Florian's Nepomuk - and reimagining a Durand score
Actually, I've just done a 'hot-fix'. Small caps are a little thicker; a couple of rogue glyphs have been fixed, and the kerning may or may not be improved.

Re: Florian's Nepomuk - and reimagining a Durand score
I agree that the Bold, certainly, seems a little light compared to the caps. I used Fontlab's "automatic" kerning to standardize most of the letters. I can see your point on the I of incredible, perhaps, but the D of Dante looks almost too close by my reckoning. The rest look pretty good t...

Re: Florian's Nepomuk - and reimagining a Durand score
I've released a new version, 2.03, of Nepomuk. There are now Small Caps variants in both Regular and Bold, so you can use small caps in apps that don't support OpenType features.** (I've actually swapped the lowercase and small caps glyphs, so if you do use it in an app like InDesign, turning ON the...

Re: Beethoven brainteaser
This is 12/8, presumably? Does it match a syncopated pattern elsewhere in the score?
