In a piano piece, should the "r" of rallentando vertically line up with the first grace note or with the first main note?
Here are pictures illustrating my query:

Thanks as always!

Re: Use of capitals
Thanks, everyone, for the input. Apropos of capitals, I note the following In the Schirmer style manual (p.12): Da Capo al Fine Da Capo al Segno Da Capo senza replica or Da Capo senza Ripetizione In a similar vein, I like the look of "Da Capo con Ripetizione" for my score. Anyways, I'll ke...

Use of capitals
Hi everyone, I use capital M and lower case r for "Molto rallentando", which makes sense to me as sentence case. Though, if sentence case makes sense, when I write "Da Capo", I wonder why the C is a capital... page 238 of Gould recommends "Da Capo". My score uses "...

Re: Tuplet bracket hooks
Thanks a lot, Fred
Cheers,

PS: I used the Utilities>Change>Tuplets dialog box and successfully lengthened the hooks to 18 EVPU. Having read your other thread, I might now have a go at improving the look of my tuplet numbers.

Tuplet bracket hooks
Hi everyone, Hope you are all keeping well. My Finale default for the length of a tuplet hook is 12 EVPU (or 1/2 a space). Is it just me, or does that seem a little short for a tuplet hook? Would it be wrong to make them a little longer, for example, more that 1/2 a space? Cheerio, HP. Screen Shot 2...

Long instrument names
Hi again, Hope I am not wearing out my welcome with so many questions! I really appreciate your collective wisdom :) I recall reading in a book that the full instrument names with transposition (without abbreviation) should be shown to the left of the indented first system of a score. Fitting the wo...

mid measure clef position
Hi all,
How exactly should I align my mid-measure bass clef with the accidentals? I couldn't see the answer in Gould. Any guidance appreciated!
Cheers,
Hector.
