Re: half-dashed slurs
I suspect not. I doubt any notation program** allows you to sub-divide the style of the slur. You'll have to edit a PDF in a vector artwork editor. You may have to cut chunks out of the slur. Also, there were some tutorials that you may be able to find for how to make dashed slurs in vector drawing ...

Re: Multi-bar rests
The Gospel according to Gould says: "This style of multiple rest bar may be used for any number of bars." There are examples of 2, 3, and more MBRs. Gardner Read's Music Notation gives examples of MBRs from 2 upward. Schirmer style guide says "Multiple bar rests should be used for any...

It's been bundled with Finale for a decade! It's basically a condensed Times. I'm not a huge fan, but it's better than using Times New Roman....

Audacity branded 'spyware' after MuseGroup acquisition
Tangentially related to notation, as Audacity has been bought the MuseGroup that makes MuseScore. "Audacity, the well-known open-source audio-editing software, has been called spyware in a report, with privacy policy changes revealing the tool is collecting data on its users and sharing it with...

Re: Fonts for Lyrics
Fondly reminiscing over this old thread! I think there's another one somewhere with some later insights. Bulmer was not that good, on reflection. Other fonts that should have got a mention: I used Photina for a while. (Its name recalls that it was one of the first fonts designed for use with Photo-l...

Re: Ambitus Question
I'm not that used to older notation, even if I know something of how the music was composed in the old days. So, now at last, I see what you mean with the rests: 4x2 + 1 breve rests! Right? Yes: similar notation was used in instrumental parts for multi-bars' rest, until recent times. (and yes, I di...

Re: Ambitus Question
I just chose a work at random. I'm not sure what program they used to create the music. The notes don't seem to be 'fonts' at all.
Only the time sig is a character, in some font called "Bentivoglio". It may be a custom in-house process.
