Re: Am I too picky? (and I'm not that experienced, but there are limits!)
This is why I have had to leave the Engraving Tips groups on Facebook... 99% of posts were "how do get *software name* to notate *absolutely incorrect notation*?"

Re: Tie collisions
And I think it looks better if the ties are all of about the same length. In a case like this, that means that one must thread the ends of the ties between the dots (don't let them touch the dots) to get close to the note heads. But not everyone likes that style. It's definitely a visually beautifu...

Incipits on Instrumentation info page
Hello all,
What would be the easiest method to include incipits within the explanatory text on the instrumentation information page of a score?
I use Finale, so I'm presuming judicious use of the Graphics Tool, but just checking if I'm missing another method.

Re: Percussion (susp. cymbal) notation question
No, there really isn't a symbol here. I think the clearest you could be would be to specify "on crown" (or "at crown") "with wood".

Attacca
Hi folks,
I am finishing a work with three (3) distinct movements played without pause.
What is the preferred notation here - one continuous movement with subtitles at appropriate points, or three movements with with the attacca indication?
Any thoughts?

Logistics of writing an opera
Hi folks, I'm exploring the process of writing an opera and I wanted to reach out to the collective experience of the board for a few questions. I'm not asking for specific legal advice, but rather would like to become aware of other composer's experiences. Are there legal concerns with choosing a t...

Piazzolla - Libertango
Hi folks, taking a stab in the dark here... I'm looking for a copy of the original score for Piazzolla's Libertango ( Note: please don't send me any links to a file, I need to acquire it legally) . I'd like to make an arrangement but I can't seem to find information on which publisher(s) hold the ri...
