Re: [MuseScore] Anyone use it?

I know that limitations of fonts. I believe they want to create a stable software with the high interchange safety. I understand that also. But it is a limitation for house-styling. Regarding amateurism VS professionalism: do anyone remember score sharing on MakeMusic's homepage, for Finale files? T...

Re: [MuseScore] Anyone use it?

I will definitely give it a try.
The problem is that many professional music engravers work in either F or S, and on the other side many amateurs work with MuseScore, thus building impression that it is not so capable software.

The only problem I can see is use of different fonts.

Re: Clef design comparision

Here's my font in the very tight context of the third movement of Ravel's string quartet. The work was kind of rushed, and somewhat difficult, so be gentle. Beautiful! One short comment: I have learned a very nice setting from Peter West. He pointed me to hairpins, which are to thin (lines) and to ...

I have my own publishing company, you can drop me questions if you like.

Re: [MuseScore] Anyone use it?

It seems that I will give it a try. Probably by making one score in it.
Sometimes I have quite tricky notation (many tweaks in Finale, similar tweaks in Sibelius), and wonder how it could be accomplished in MuseScore.

Re: Various Line Settings

Oh, John, that was useful!
I will put yours and others settings in to an excel spreadsheet for the further reference.
I find that excel-spreadsheet can help in the logical customization, by entering values by exponential values or else, it is easy to create a good settings sheet.

Re: Clef design comparision

Knut says the most important thing: font palette is the most difficult to create. Try to combine your most beloved symbols from different fonts and the score will end up in messy unbalance... Well, tisimst, many nice clefs, indeed. Now speaking just about my favorites: 4 and 13. No 11 is also quite ...
