Re: [BRAVURA] What does this represent?

So, I guess the strongest argument in favor of "accidental first" as being the "natural" order is that that is the way we now write it in musical notation: the accidental first and then the note or in this case a number representing a note. Why and how this has come to be is an i...

Re: Espressivo font

What OCTO. said about the angle of the m and the F and the compression also occurred to me when I saw that new thinner version of the m. But, for some reason, I find it less of an issue in the earlier version, so I didn't mention in it.

Re: Espressivo font

Three different weights total: (1) original primary dynamic (2) original secondary dynamic (3) thinner text expression. Regarding Wess's italic font and your expression text font, I would gladly use either for all expressive text markings. I was just toying with the idea of two tiers of expression f...

Re: Arnstein and the "whole measure rest"

It might have seemed like an out-of-character remark, Ere, but I did say "...if the choice were between…" Actually, there does not have to be a choice between the note values and the rests, and that is why I object to the edition above; it is neither fish nor fowl. A modern scholarly editi...

Re: Espressivo font

I am sorry for not paying closer attention, Knut. Too many threads, too many posts, too little time… So let me start over. I prefer the weight of the expressive text in your latest version, as you would expect. But I do not think that the secondary dynamic symbols must be the same weight as the expr...

Re: My Clef

I forgot to say that I found creating a glyph a very interesting and satisfying activity (or in better hands, art form) and can see why there is so much interest in it. I recommend it highly to all who love music notation. Do just one glyph and you will have gained a greater appreciation for the mor...
