Placement of dynamics in Piano

Hello.
I am a bit confused. Where to place dynamics and hairpins in this example?

Re: Lilypond

Personally I am interested in whatever kind of good engraving tool, which produces a good result. However, I have not been engraving my scores for years, and so using Lilypond would imply that a Lilypond engraver does it. But I AM interested in Lilypond and might give a try. One thing that I am a bi...

Re: VIDEO: Resized staff and symbol sizes

WESS - that was a huge answer! Thanks for the considerable time for such a detailed reply. I hope that the above explanations may help not only to you, OCTO, but to whom it may concern. That was helpful. I stil have problems for some symbols to display correctly in Inkscape. I will investigate it fu...

Re: Ottavation numbers attached to clefs

I think, but I might have wrong, that 8 should not be italic. At least in this case. It goes to much scissors with the clef.

And slightly smaller, so to compensate the boldness.

It is my personal feeling.

Can you post it in a musical context (some random music of course!)?

Re: VIDEO: Resized staff and symbol sizes

Absolutely fantastic Wess! Your perfection and ideas are always astonishing me! I noticed that you have exported as .ps than converted to .pdf. What is the purpose? Actually I have some problems with Inkscape, with fonts. I tried different settings to export from Finale and import to Inkscape, but m...

Re: Spatial piece

I understand now. One of the main frameworks of the standard notation is exactly what you have described, notehead represents some value. And true, small notehead :6 doesn't occupy the whole measure, but there is a white space that allows this . You are forced to play something using the white space...

Absolutely astonishing...!

Interesting, some days ago I was testing Inkscape. I have got some results but I was not so precise.

In Wess' example, the accidental and ledger lines have got rounded shape. I love it.

Re: Ottavation numbers attached to clefs

Try to make a slightly bolder the 8-symbol.
