Re: 9/8 measure question
Hmmm, my first thought is that Debussy might want the sound of those dotted half notes in the bass to blend into the following tones, or somehow taper or sort of evaporate using judicious pedaling ... Being un-dotted, the low Bb half note in the left hand of the last bar of your excerpt seems like a...

Re: 9/8 measure question
Thanks for the reply, John! The corrections look great. I will also check for any forbidden rests! I found also that Debussy's Clair de Lune seems to be a handy reference for 9/8 music notation conventions.

9/8 measure question
Hi all,
In my 9/8 bar, should I change my 2 tied dotted crotchets to a dotted minim? I hope to do the most "correct" way from a notation / publishing point of view.
Thanks again!
HP.

Italian question
Hi all, I would like to put an instruction in my score / piano part to hold the damper Ped. down until the end of the movement. I've come up with this: Ped. (sempre sostenuto al fine del movimento). If anyone here on the forum could check / correct my spelling and usage of the Italian words, that'd ...

Secondary Beaming Angles Question
Hi all,
In this example, I am wondering about the wedges indicated by the arrows .... Can they be ignored? Or is there a way to manage them? I'm using a two-space beam angle. If anyone has a tip, let me know!
All best wishes,
HP.

Re: fermata for piano L and R hands
Many thanks for the advice! :) Re the centering of the fermata, I had assumed that Finale's default positioning (which takes the dot of the rest into consideration when positioning the fermata) might have had some time-honoured reason for being, though I suspect otherwise now. Here also is a Henle S...

fermata for piano L and R hands
Hi all,
In this piano measure, I am going to put a fermata above the left hand rest (the left hand rest is a Finale default rest). Would that be the correct action?
Cheers,
Hector.
