Re: Algorithms of accidental spacings
Fred, I was planning to start another on beaming when this one dies down. Yes, please!! ///// All of the naturals have the same spacing: they are 1/4 space away from the left-hand side of the notehead. Perhaps there are some rounding errors in the PNG file. I see now better. Yes, they are the same....

Re: Algorithms of accidental spacings
* Distance between rightmost accidental and note; separate controls for flats, sharps, naturals, and then a fallback value for other accidental types * Distance between successive columns of accidentals; separate controls for columns that can kern with each other (e.g. where a column can tuck in cl...

Exactly so.erelievonen wrote:It is a pity that notation software (that I know) are unable to do this automatically.
Accidentals should be implemented in music spacing, equally to grace notes and ledger lines.

Re: Algorithms of accidental spacings
Interesting, I have made a little test with accidentals. Here Henle's Geminiani Violin Sonata. I have tested :s and found very different results . Zooming is at 3000, so it is not so clear. Here is distance 78: Screen shot 2015-10-21 at 9.09.53 AM.png Here is distance much closer, 52: Screen shot 20...

Re: crowded voices
I think I will try that suggestion by erelievonen.
I didn't know that Kodály's Sonata has that approach. I will check.
So far no double staffed violin part here, as long it is enough legible...

Re: First page of today's work
I must disagree with my esteemed colleague, OCTO. ;) ...I have never performed or written this kind of music, but seems that it could be possible with parts. If there are no so many pages it could be possible to execute from the score, having each "score" adjusted (reduced others' lines).

Re: crowded voices
Maybe I should move behind the first triplet...? In that case and the grace note should be more compact to the note-head..
