Re: Two-part problem
Thanks for the great suggestions! I'll try them all and see what works best.

Re: Problems with Sebastian-FigBass
I have never used Sibelius, so I don't know how figured bass symbols are added there. I was merely sounding a note of caution that the zero-width font may work better in that environment than as in Finale's chord suffixes.

Re: Two-part problem
It's a choral work with organ: the lower part is both the bass voice and the original organ "basso seguente" part; for the realisation/part reduction, I'd want to merge the two, but preserve the source.

Re: Problems with Sebastian-FigBass
It may be that the revised font is not as suited to Sibelius as the original.
I'll upload it here, as I've not worked out how to upload things to other people's Github projects (despite having a couple of projects there myself...)
Florian's photo on github looks familiar....

Re: Problems with Sebastian-FigBass
Ben (?), I'm glad you like the font! Would you consider uploading your clean version to the GitHub rep? Or else, could you send it to me so I can do that? Yes, I love it! All the other Fig Bass fonts I've seen look like Times, rather than looking like an 18th-century face. I'll happily send the rev...

Two-part problem
What's the best way to combine these two parts onto one staff, while reducing any ambiguity?
IF it helps, I'm happy to subdivide or otherwise adjust the notes on the upper part, but I would ideally need the lower part preserved.

Re: Software: Overture
I've just noticed the older thread "Ten Music Notation Programs", in which you give it a fairly poor review. http://notat.io/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=217 Very reminiscent of the early days of Music Notation Software where I suppose programmers thought people would be so delighted to have su...

Re: Text fonts in musical scores
It might be very nice to have a list of what typefaces the leading publishing houses use. Even if they are customized versions of common typefaces.
But I suspect that a list of text typefaces that people use might be very large. And the larger the list, the less useful it becomes.

Re: Problems with Sebastian-FigBass
It has only recently occurred to me (Doh!) that the reason for the zero-width was so that different glyphs could be typed together and appear at the same horizontal position. Hence the font having the same numerals in different heights. That's not how I use it -- I use the basic set of figures as ch...

Re: Lyric Extenders on Long Vowels
I would have expected Lilypond to handle extensions correctly by default.
