Yes, I too was very glad when Dorico made it possible to use the standard placement of the clef after the repeat mark.

I thought you might make that comment about the Finale placement and you may be right. It is certainly the easiest way to program it. Or rather not program it.

I guess I think the player is more in need of a warning concerning what they are about to play, than what they have just played, so I prefer the clef. But the point is moot if the Dorico system is used.

In any case, in the grand scheme of things, I don't think it is a major matter, and I think it doubtful that a player would be thrown off either way.

Yeah, it’s probably “not that big a deal” which is why it hasn’t been standardized - rare enough, and, the player will usually grok it.

After all, the “courtesy” clefs by definition are just that - merely a courtesy, they’re not

required!

I do like the Dorico solution for such a case, even though it takes up some horizontal space.

It’d be interesting to see if I can insert a “dummy” measure after, or “fake barline”, hiding the others, to make it work out like Dorico in MuseScore - probably can - more work than it’s worth - but it would be interesting just to see if it can be done (these things help me learn more about the software’s capabilities - or lack thereof, and what workarounds are possible etc.).

I think in this case I may just axe it - again, they’ll figure it out in the next bar. It was already a workaround just to get it in there.
