Library classification system for symphonic orchestra libraries

Two questions for librarians, especially those who maintain a symphonic orchestra library:

1. What classification system do you use? E.g. one of the following, though they are not aimed directly at orchestra libraries?:[/list]

• the Dewey Decimal Classification?

• the British Catalogue of Music Classification?

• or something similar to the Pendlebury Library Classification Scheme?

• or simple numbering?

2. What software do you use?

• just an Excel sheet of something fancy?
