Hi all,

How exactly should I align my mid-measure bass clef with the accidentals? I couldn't see the answer in Gould. Any guidance appreciated!

If you move the accidentals closer to the notes, the clef will not look so far from the chord. Ideally, the clef would be positioned as if directly in front of the accidentals, but depending on spacing considerations, in my opinion, it would be OK to tuck-in the clef over the accidentals so it is closer to the note heads. It is a gray area because mid-measure clefs often have to be squeezed in tight places. There definitely should not be a large empty area between the clef and the first notes it applies to, for the sake of good comprehension.
