Melisima long ending notes using extenders in lyrics

when would you use extenders in lyrics?

Is there a general rule? Somehow the information of the duration is in the slur.
For me it looks nice and full. what would you say?

Simple Rule: Use extender in lyrics, if it is the last or only syllable of a word and spans more than one note.
Exception: Omit it, if it gets very short.

As far as I know, it follows both the slur and/or the tie, and the line finishes at their right end-point.
