Angled fractional beam question

Post by Hector Pascal »

Hi all,

I've got a wedge created by the angled fractional beam. What's the best solution / way to correct it? (I'm studying the UE manual and the Ted Ross but I'm still in search of a clue!)

Thanks for any advice!

Cheers,
Hector.

Bring the beam stub up a little to cover the staff line. It could "straddle".

Yes, the last :2 should have "hang" position on the staff-line (no white space!).
You can also try "middle" or "sit" on the line.

Thank you so much! I felt that the middle and sit options looked a little short stemmed to my eye. So, here is the "hanging angled fractional beam" moved up a little.

In the example below, I allow the top left corner of the fractional beam to peep above the staff line (but not officially a straddle), given that it's an angled beam. Is that a nice idea, or a bad idea?

Sorry for asking about this tiny detail!

Cheerio,
Hector.

The first way looks "cleaner" to me.
