Pretty much anything! On one hand, it's a formal traditional face, like Garamond or Bembo; but I think it has a cuddly warmth that makes it a bit friendlier.hautbois baryton wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025, 19:02 @benwiggy - in your opinion, what type of works look best for Splentino?

Re: Resized staff/note and line thickness
It has also been noted that Dorico scales slurs from grace notes, too. You can change the scale on a slur to "Normal" in the Properties, (though it's not always an improvement, given the short compass -- they can look like a dead slug.) I think most computer software has been guilty of jus...

Re: Fold out page in PDF
Details like fold-outs need to be clearly described in instructions to the printer. Adobe did create a format called JDF -- "Job Definition Format", to go with PDF, which was an attempt to create a digital standard for defining print job instructions, but it didn't take off in the print in...

Re: Dorico 6.10 update!
Yes, it can do all that. And I dare say that the Cutaway feature will also be useful for creating musical 'snippets' on a worksheet or other page of examples.

Re: From Plate to Page with Dorico
Thanks, Harald, for pointing out the errors/omissions. I have done some things intentionally (or perhaps wilfully) differently. that must have been a tremendous lot of work. After switching from (30+years) Finale to Dorico I'm more or less fluent right now and thus can guess the difficulties. As sai...

Dorico 6.0.10 update!
There's a .10 update to version 6, with lots of bug fixes and improvements. https://www.scoringnotes.com/news/dorico-6-0-10/ Notably, Alternative Fingering can now be shown above. Also: holding SHIFT and double clicking on a note will select all notes of that pitch in the voice. My own favourite: wh...

Re: odd chant notation
I suspect it's just a stylized Pes, e.g. lower note, then higher note.
The downward ones I'm less sure, but again probably a Clivis.
Here's a modern version, which is similar, but not identical; though you can see what's going on.
