Finest modern engraving examples

Post by Wescott »

I'm looking for a couple of publications by the top-shelf publishers that have some of the finest examples of modern engraving standards, say, by Barenreiter, Henle, Schott, etc.

Piano music or scores of orchestra or chamber. Music with a pretty good amount of notation "stuff", for reference.

Thanks.

Beautiful engraving for classical guitar by Tuscany Publications of Tampa FL, a company of music professor Richard Long, distributed by Theodore Presser. [I'm not affiliated, but know Prof. Long slightly]. Example is Schumann's Kinderszenen arr. Stephen Aron. Engraving style slightly quirky, with left end of slurs intersecting note stems, but nicely done in the Nightingale program using Adobe's Sonata.

measure 4 also has a rather odd collision between the inner voice beam and the ledger lines below the staff.

Measure 3 has a beam that ends in the middle of a space, which is not "allowed." A descending beam contained within the staff has to end in Straddle or Hang, it can't just be floating unattached to any staff line.
